Infrastructure SECURITY Watson Worldwide

The Cognitive Security Era starts now

Today is a big day in the world of cyber security! IBM is integrating cognitive technologies into the Security Operations Center (SOC) with Watson for Cyber Security. In my previous blog I talked about how in this increasingly complex landscape of threats, a traditional security method of simply scaling up legacy processes and infrastructure falls short. Cognitive security can analyze the staggering amount of unstructured data that has been dark to organizational defenses until now.

Introducing IBM Cognitive Security Operations Center (SOC) with Watson

The centerpiece of IBM’s new Cognitive Security Operations Center (SOC) is IBM QRadar Advisor with Watson. QRadar Advisor brings cognitive capabilities to aid security analysts in their investigations and remediation through the IBM QRadar security intelligence platform. The solution helps by correlating Watson’s natural language processing capabilities across security blogs, websites and research papers along with other sources, with threat intel and security incident data from QRadar—shortening investigation time from weeks or days to hours or minutes.

Another key component of the Cognitive SOC is IBM BigFix Detect. This endpoint detection and response (EDR) solution extends cognitive processing to those points in the network where cyberattacks typically begin. When combined with the IBM Resilient Incident Response dynamic playbooks, clients can leverage the IBM Cognitive SOC’s ability to quickly and accurately automate and orchestrate threat response across the entire organization. Download the solution brief and share it with your clients to learn more.

See firsthand how the IBM Cognitive SOC and QRadar Advisor with Watson are revolutionizing cyber security during this upcoming webinar and invite your clients to join: The Cognitive Security Era Starts Now: How Watson is Revolutionizing the Security Operations Center (SOC).
