IBM All-Flash solutions are triple Product of the Year finalists
SearchStorage.com and Storage Magazine announced their 15th annual Product of the Year finalists in six different storage categories on January 6th. IBM placed three finalists in the All-Flash Storage Systems category. No other Flash vendor has more than one—while our chief rivals in the Flash storage marketplace don’t have any!
Out of a total of seven finalist spots in the All-Flash storage category, IBM captured three, with FlashSystem A9000, FlashSystem A9000R and Storwize V7000F all being named finalists for the 2016 Product of the Year. Last year, we also had three finalists in the TechTarget Product of the Year competitions, and during 2016 IBM storage products garnered over 20 different awards and accolades: multiple Gartner Leadership Magic Quadrants; various awards and recognition from IDC for IBM Cloud Object Storage, FlashSystem and Spectrum Storage, among others; and Flash Memory Summit Best of Show in the Most Innovative Flash Memory Enterprise Business Application category. Being a TechTarget finalist just extends a trend for IBM Storage that has continued for several years.
All these accolades are very important for our Business Partners. It demonstrates that IBM continues to develop and market some of the best storage solutions on the planet, while confirming the long-term IBM commitment to industry leadership in the enterprise storage marketplace. Don’t take our word for it; the long list of awards speaks for itself.
The annual TechTarget Product of the Year competition involves data storage systems released or upgraded over the past year only. The seven All-Flash finalists will be judged on innovation, performance, ease of integration, ease of use, functionality and value. Though these three systems were singled out by TechTarget for top honors, the truth is, IBM offers a comprehensive portfolio of Flash-optimized storage solutions, including:
- IBM FlashSystem, the number-one All-Flash array in the marketplace
- IBM Storwize family, All-Flash systems for entry-level and mid-range workloads
- IBM DS8880 family with All-Flash configurations designed to support mainframe and other business-critical environments where peak availability is non-negotiable
- DeepFlash solutions tailored for large, unstructured data sets where performance must go hand in hand with the lowest possible cost
- VersaStack converged infrastructure solutions that offer multiple high-performance, All-Flash configuration options
Every enterprise has its own unique business and information system requirements. Dynamic factors such as business objectives, growth targets, budgets, risk tolerance and market conditions mean that “one-size-fits-all” storage platforms no longer work. That’s why IBM offers multiple options. Help your customers start small and grow with their business, embrace the cloud and gain the strategic advantage required to outpace the competition. When you team with IBM storage, you are leading with cost-effective, globally-supported options for moving fast.
Stay tuned for the February issue of Storage Magazine and check online to learn which of the All-Flash finalists stepped up another level to earn bronze, silver and gold. 2017 is going to be the year of IBM All-Flash storage!
