IBM recognizes Business Partners Axians and SVA

Two German IBM Business Partners—Axians and SVA—are leading in the implementation of the new IBM PartnerWorld program across Europe (for the German version of this blog, click here)

The process of achieving Competencies is a key element of the new PartnerWorld program. Therefore, it is also top of mind for many IBM Business Partners. In Europe, however, this pursuit has already inspired two IBM Business Partners to overachieve—and IBM responded by recognizing their achievement with a special award.

German IBM Business Partners Axians and SVA were honored in August with the “Best European Business Partner in IBM Expert Competencies” award. Under the new IBM PartnerWorld program, IT companies Axians IT Solutions GmbH and SVA System Vertrieb Alexander GmbH managed to earn the highest number of Expert Competencies in the course of aggressively pursuing new business opportunities in the evolving cloud and cognitive market.

Axians and SVA each achieved 15 Expert Competencies, setting them apart as pioneers in the implementation of the new IBM PartnerWorld program, which went into effect January 2017. The focus of the program is on certifications, training and education around the topics of cloud and cognitive. Members of IBM PartnerWorld benefit from the full IBM ecosystem—which is networked around the world—and are supported by IBM in sales, marketing, technology, training and collaboration. In total, there are 44 competencies in 10 categories (Cloud, Analytics, IoT, Watson, Cognitive Solutions, Commerce, Social, Security, Systems and Services).

IBM spearheaded the Competencies model in the new PartnerWorld program to help IBM Business Partners like you build expertise in products, solutions and industries and enter new markets.

Axians: At home in 18 countries around the world
Axians, a global information and communication technology (ICT) brand of VINCI Energies, employs approximately 8,000 people worldwide and is represented in 18 countries. In Germany, the company is based in 24 cities and is headquartered in Ulm. Axians is the leading cloud provider and has a portfolio that covers the core competences of IT solutions, IT security, network infrastructure and network technology.

As an IBM Business Partner, we are now able to expand our own unique expertise and tailor it individually to the ICT requirements of our customers,” says Markus Oelsner, managing director of Axians IT Solutions GmbH. “Thanks to our alliance with IBM, we are opening up new market potential and providing the support our customers need on their path to digital transformation.”

SVA focuses on cloud and cognitive
SVA is one of the leading system integrators in Germany and is headquartered in Wiesbaden. The company employs more than 710 people at 16 locations in Germany. SVA’s corporate objective is to link high-quality IT products from their respective manufacturers with the project know-how and flexibility of SVA to achieve individualized solutions for its customers.

We are eager to further explore the benefits of IBM’s global ecosystem and provide our customers with access to the latest leading offerings for cloud and cognitive,” says Philipp Alexander, managing director of SVA GmbH. “For this reason, we are leveraging IBM PartnerWorld to train our employees in these rapidly evolving areas and to optimize our position in the German market.”

IBM is constantly expanding its Business Partner ecosystem
Our PartnerWorld program is based on three pillars: Program Level, Competencies and Benefits,” says Olaf Scamperle, vice president, Global Business Partner Organization, IBM DACH. “As Platinum Business Partners, Axians and SVA have not only reached our highest program level, but have also earned the most Expert Competencies in Europe—as a result, they are both ideally positioned to deliver market-leading technologies like cloud and cognitive.

IBM Business Partners such as Axians and SVA cleverly combine their own solutions with those from IBM—whether they develop new applications based on IBM technology, provide services for cloud and cognitive, or act as consultants for specific industries. Local and small Business Partners in particular are able to use access to IBM services to extend their own reach. And in Germany, the focus is on supporting small and medium-sized enterprises through Business Partners to become trusted advisors to individual customers in-country.
