Leadership change for North America Global Business Partners
It is with very mixed emotions that I am announcing that Tami Duncan, who was Vice President, Global Business Partners for North America has decided to reorient her life and career in a different direction and will leave IBM effective July 1. Tami, who was in this role since February 2014, was instrumental in helping our Business Partners throughout North America in their transformation efforts, providing a competitive advantage to our organization. She and I worked closely over the last year to build our organization into one that delivers the best client value, retains the highest level of margin as well as encourages Business Partner integrity and ethical behavior. I wish Tami the very best in any future endeavors.
Replacing Tami, I would like to congratulate Michele Stern, who I have appointed as our new North America Vice President for Global Business Partners. Michele, was for the last 18 months, IBM’s Vice President of Global Business Partner Sales, reporting to me. In that role, she helped us drive our Business Partner transformation and was instrumental at building the Channel strategy that we are executing today.
Michele has more than 25 years’ experience in sales and management at IBM and has worked extensively with Business Partners of all types across the globe.
In her new role, which becomes effective today, Michele will be responsible for leading the North America One Channel Team and our ecosystem of channel partners on their transformational journey to higher value solutions. She will drive sales and marketing initiatives and manage the best high-value channel in our industry.

I believe Michele is an excellent choice for the continued success of IBM and the channel, as we continue to accelerate the pace for current and future IBM Business Partners to transform and capitalize on new market opportunities based on cloud, analytics, mobile, social and security. With her focus on strong field engagement, outstanding support of our Business Partners across all brands, and recruitment of new channel partners to lead in the Cloud economy, we can ensure that our partners in North America are optimally positioned to excel in the IT marketplace with IBM as their partner of choice.
