Storage made simple: Let’s put smart to work™

Today is a big day! IBM Storage is unveiling today new entry-level and midrange storage solutions that have new features and enhancements to provide leading enterprise-class data management.

These innovations across the IBM Storage portfolio offer effective solutions to the challenges of business workloads that customers face when aspiring to attain the highest levels of performance while managing growth despite restrained resources and budgets. For years, customers have relied on award-winning IBM Storwize storage systems to deliver leading-edge solutions that are powerful, yet attractively priced. This latest announcement underscores the IBM commitment to continue delivering high-quality and affordable storage for businesses of all sizes.

New IBM Storwize Systems: Let’s put smart to work™

IBM Storwize, built with IBM Spectrum Virtualize, is adding new entry models and new Non-Volatile Memory Express (NVMe) models to the popular Storwize V5000 series, offering increased performance and functionality in solutions that are easy to use and manage. The Storwize V5010E and Storwize V5030E are new entry models designed for customers requiring low cost storage options but still requiring extensive features. And we are introducing new low cost NVMe Storwize models V5100F and V5100 for customers needing faster response times.

“Many of the workloads powering the new economy require performance that can’t be achieved with traditional storage infrastructure,” says Eric Burgener, Research Vice President, Infrastructure Systems, Platforms and Technologies Group, IDC. “Non-volatile memory express (NVMe) technology delivers this kind of performance, meeting the low storage latency requirements needed to enable the real-time analytics, artificial intelligence and machine learning applications that drive today’s demanding new data-centric business models.”

Drive value from your customers’ oceans of data

When you talk to your clients and prospects about Storwize, you can also explain the value of IBM’s related, industry-acclaimed storage software products that drive value from your customers’ oceans of data.

IBM Spectrum Virtualize for Public Cloud now available on AWS

Customers need the flexibility to keep some data on premises for optimum performance and security, while moving other data into the public cloud for increased cost-efficiency and agility. IBM Spectrum Virtualize for Public Cloud helps all IBM Storage users—including Storwize V5000 customers—simplify implementing multicloud solutions. Today, we are also pleased to announce that IBM Spectrum Virtualize for Public Cloud can be deployed on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and IBM Cloud.

Enhancements to IBM Storage Insights

IBM Storage Insights minimizes administrative challenges by offering artificial intelligence (AI)–based system analysis, monitoring, optimization, reporting and technical support at no cost to IBM Storage users. The new reporting options and improved system-alert handling now offered by Storage Insights is expected to be a game changer for IT departments.

Back in October 2018, we announced that IBM Storwize is a channel-only set of products, available exclusively through our IBM Business Partners. This simpler, go-to-market strategy opens a world of opportunity for you and helps eliminate any route contention. With only one way to buy, all customers are counting on IBM Business Partners for their IBM Storwize needs. As usual, our IBM Storage marketing, sales and technical teams will support your efforts, and the Storage brand specialists will continue to be compensated.

To help you develop your pipeline and generate leads, look to DCM, where you will find more than a dozen storage campaigns along with supporting sales tools and literature collections for all-flash, IBM Spectrum Scale, data protection and more. In light of today’s news, you definitely want to leverage the IBM Storwize campaign—where new assets are loaded daily that feature new Storwize V5000E and Storwize V7000 materials—to help you generate high-quality leads that close deals.

The immensely popular channel In it to Win it incentives are available to reward you for selling all-flash solutions, for selling IBM Storage software together with IBM Storage systems, and for selling to new accounts. Today’s new offerings are included in these successful incentives!
